India has taken a giant leap into space again after 41 Years. Since Rakesh Sharma 's historic 🚀 🌌 Spaceflight in 1984 , no Indian had traveled to Space - until now.   Group Captain Shubhanshu Sukla, a distinguished officer From the Indian Air Force, has made history by becoming the next Indian to reach space.

H1 A moment of National Pride H1

Bron in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, Group Captain  Sukla is a highly trained test pilot in the 🌎 Indian Air Force. In April human Spaceflight mission, Gaganyaan, Under ISRO.

However, before Gaganyaan launches officially, Shubhanshu was chosen For an international mission - Axiom Mission 4(Ax-4)- as part of a collaboration between NASA, Space X, and ISRO.

H1 Liftoff and Arrival at the ISS H1

On June 25, 2025, Shubhanshu launched aboard a Space 🚀 🌌 X Falcon 9 🚀 Rockets and Dragon Space . After travelling for nearly 28 hours in 🌎 🌍 Earth 's orbit, the crew docked with the International Space Station- ( ISS) on June 26, 2025.

Upon entering the ISS's Harmony module, Shubhanshu spoke emotionally:

"Hello World This journey is not just mine - it

belongs to 1.4 billion Indians. I hope this mission strengthens the Foundation for India 's human Spaceflight program."

H2 He is the First Indian to visit the ISS and only the second Indian ever in space. 🌌 🚀 

Scientific Objectives of the Mission 

During his 14- days stay at the ISS, Shubhanshu will be involved in more than 60 Scientific experiments, including: 

Cancer research and 📲 📱 cell mutation studies 

1. DNA repair mechanisms in Space 🌌 🚀 

2. Robotic technology testing 

3. Advanced manufacturing techniques 

4. ISRO - related payload tests For Future missions

These studies are essential for understanding how Space 🌌 🚀 affects the human body and technology - key insightst for the upcoming Ganganyaan mission.

H2 A Journey of learning H2

In his First video call from space, Shubhanshu Said:

"I feel like a child learning to walk again: Microgravity is Fascinating. I initially felt disoriented, but after some rest, I feel fully adapted."

He credited his team, mentors, and country For giving him the Strength to represent India in Space. His humility and dedication are a Source of national pride.

H2 Family and Emotional Moments H2

Shubhanshu's wife, kamma (adertist) , and his young Son sid Watched the launch with tear ful joy. School Friends and Fellow air Force officers stood with them, celebrating 🎉 a dream come true.

Leaders from across India, including the chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and the Deputy CM, Congratulations him and called it a" golden moments in Indian 's Scientific journey".

In 1984, Rakesh Sharma  traveled to Space aboard the Soviet Soyuz T- 11 and became the first Indian to do so. Now, 41 years later, Shubhanshu Sukla is carrying that legacy Forward - this time into a new era  of space collaboration with goal space agencies.

Shubhanshu's mission proves India is not just catching up-it's taking the lead in global Space 🌌 🚀 research.

This mission is I expected to significantly accelerate India's own human Spaceflight program, Gaganyaan. Shubhanshu's experience at the ISS will directly benefit ISRO'S astronaut training and space. Science planing.

Three more Indian officers are currently undergoing astronaut training, and they are expected to participates Under the Gaganyaan program.
